Executive function is sometimes called the brain’s “management system.”
It helps us organise, plan, prioritise, remember information, manage emotions and complete tasks.
For many people with ADHD, these skills require significantly more effort.
That doesn’t mean they lack potential.
It means they may benefit from practical supports such as visual schedules, reminders, breaking tasks into smaller steps and structured routines.
Understanding executive function helps us move beyond stereotypes.
