African Neurodiversity Movement
About the movement
Different minds.
United Africa.
We are building an Africa where neurodivergent people are understood, respected and supported to thrive—without having to hide who they are.

Understanding • Acceptance • Inclusion
Who we are
Neurodiversity belongs in Africa’s story.
The African Neurodiversity Movement is a pan-African organisation working to change how neurological differences—including autism, ADHD, AuDHD, PDA and other forms of neurodivergence—are understood, valued and supported.
Awareness on its own is not enough. We work towards genuine acceptance, practical inclusion and lasting change through advocacy, education, research and community engagement rooted in African cultures and realities.

AFRICA
Every mind
has value.
Our direction
01
Our mission
To move beyond awareness by breaking down barriers, challenging stigma and helping create environments where neurodivergent people are recognised for their strengths and supported in ways that work for them.
02
Our vision
A future where neurodivergent Africans thrive in education, employment, leadership and community life.
What we do
Change that can be felt
in everyday life.
Our work connects knowledge with action.
From classrooms and workplaces to families, communities and public policy.

01
Inclusive education
Practical learning and training that help educators understand and support neurodivergent learners.

02
Advocacy & awareness
Campaigns that challenge stigma and strengthen respect for the rights and dignity of neurodivergent people.

03
Community & leadership
Networks where neurodivergent Africans, families, professionals and advocates can connect, contribute and lead.
What guides us
Nothing about us
without us.
01
Lived experience leads
Neurodivergent people must help shape the conversations, policies and solutions that affect their lives.
02
African realities matter
Support should reflect the continent’s cultures, languages, communities and unequal access to services—not copy and paste someone else’s answers.
03
Inclusion is practical
Respect becomes real through accessible information, supportive environments, equal opportunity and room for different ways of thinking and communicating.
